Boy George was refused entry into the U.S. after his visa application was denied due to a 2006 conviction for lying about a burglary at his New York apartment.

George was set to return to New York to do a tribute show for the NY Department of Sanitation for helping him get through his five days of community service.

See, the U.K. doesn’t want Martha Stewart and we don’t want Boy George. I think it would be a fair trade, though. Or not, considering that Boy George actually seems like a nice guy.

George says, “I’m pretty devastated because I am so excited about this forthcoming tour and having my visa application denied seems unfair after I swept the streets of New York spotless.”
