Metallica drummer and Napster hater Lars Ulrich is planning a heavy metal tour of the greats!

Kerry King spilled the beans in a recent interview with Metal Hammer magazine.
He said, “I don’t know Lars that well and I haven’t heard it from Lars, but apparently he’s talking to somebody about it. Maybe us, Metallica, Megadeth (and), I think he even threw in Anthrax.”
Kerry says that Machine Head would be a better fit rather than Anthrax, but he’s still game for the tour.
That tour would sell out in a day! Would you go?

Metallica says that they tare considering releasing their next album as an internet only download. The reason for that? It’s because they are free agents without any current record deal. They are out from under their deal with Warner Music Group and they’re thinking about their options in regards to a followup.
They just might be going the way of Radiohead and releasing their next album on the internet.
Lars Ulrich says, “We’re free of our record contract. We have that element of complete freedom with the next record, so we can do whatever we want. [...]
Post from: Rumors in Music

I wouldn’t hold my breath for another Metallica record. I’m still decompressing and coming down from the whole experience of the last one, but if we spit one out every four or five years that’s not so bad.”

I’d listen to it, but only if they gave it away.

Metallica frontman James Hetfield wants to end his feud with former bassist Jason Newsted. He has invited Jason to rejoin the band if they are inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next year.
They’ve already been nominated for entry in 2009, and James wants to use that as a tool to bring together all of the musicians who have appeared on Metallica’s albums.
He says, “Everyone that played on a record should be there. You’re considered for the Hall 25 years after your first recording, not [...]
Post from: Rumors in Music

The official date is September 12th for the worldwide release of the album. The album will also be available for download for Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock, on the same day of the release. I love Guitar Hero and most of the content for the game, but I’m kind of hesitant to purchase the Metallica stuff.

I’ve always been a little biased towards the older Metallica stuff, not giving much credit to them for going mainstream and sucking as hard as they have after the Black album. If they show me that the proof is in the pudding, then I might buy into it. We’ll see.

Old school Metallica kicks most of the butt out there now, but I wouldn’t take anything after the Black album if they were giving it away.

The track listing for the new album is:

01. That Was Just Your Life
02. The End Of The Line
03. Broken, Beat & Scarred
04. The Day That Never Comes
05. All Nightmare Long
06. Cyanide
07. The Unforgiven III
08. The Judas Kiss
09. Suicide & Redemption
10. My Apocalypse

Are you a fan of Metallica all the way? Or are you like me? Sound off!

Metallica might be following in the footsteps of Radiohead by releasing their music online.
The sell-outs rockers are set to release their ninth studio album sometime later this year. The band members have admitted that they want to be able to keep up with the digital age and aren’t looking for a tradition album deal.
Douchebag drummer Lars Ulrich says, “We’ve been observing Radiohead and Trent Reznor (of Nine Inch Nails) and in 27 years or however long it takes for the next record, we’ll be looking forward to everything in terms of possibilities with the internet.”

Death metal band Deicide have topped a new list of bands whose music is played to military prisoners in Iraq. They must be so proud!
