She talked to Extreme guitarist Nuno Bettencourt, but she went down a different path. In a recent interview, Nuno said, “I’ve been asked to play with pop artists in the past but turned them down because they didn’t really get the vibe. But when I spoke to Rihanna she was totally into transforming herself into a heavy rock chick. She was listening to Led Zeppelin and new acts like Paramore and said that was the direction she wanted to go, so I said yes. I think the label had a seizure, so they went down another route.”

I would love to see Nuno make a comeback of any sort, he has a lot of talent that’s just waiting to be tapped.

I think he should work with Lady Gaga, now that would be interesting. Maybe Rihanna’s label will come around next time and allow her to have much more of a say when it comes to the musical path she wishes to take.

Tyson was rehearsing with guitarist Nick Wheeler, Wale, and UCB for their performance at Sunday night’s VMAs and he spilled the beans.

He said, “I actually met with her a couple of weeks ago and the funny thing is, I actually don’t remember half of it. I remember the first half of meeting her, but then, as the night progressed, somebody decided to drink too much Jameson.”

He added, “But seriously, she’s such a sweet girl that I’m gonna try to give her a little piece of my heart. I wanna get in a room with her, and I wanna see what flies. I’ve got some songs for her, like, little things written, and I wanna see what she wants. See if she wants something aggressive and rock, and I’ve also kinda got some really fun, clubby ideas.”

That would be an awesome collaboration. I can’t wait to hear what they’ll have in store for us.

Chris’ rep has dashed any plans that the singer would be performing for the September 26th show, saying, “Chris is not confirmed to perform or participate in any capacity for this show.”

He would have to have the trip okay’ed by a judge, considering he’s on probation for the next five years. Considering his criminal behavior against Rihanna, I think this is for the best. Don’t you?

He is trying, though. Aside from admitting that he’s ready for counseling, Chris has written a song to show her how sorry he is.

He said, “I wrote a song for her called ‘Changed Man’, explaining how, when we were apart, it took a toll on me. At the end it’s saying I’m a changed man. I gave her that record right after the incident.”

Is it enough?

The two of them were spending a lot of time together prompting rumors that they were hooking up. He says the rumors aren’t true and that he was trying to convince her to do a duet with him for his next album.

He says, “We’re just really good friends. We have great conversations about music, and we’re trying to figure out the perfect song we can collaborate on for my album. I’ve only worked with one other female before (Mary J. Blige). I hope that Rihanna is on board, and I’m also looking to work with Sade.”

It’s interesting that he’s denying the rumors now, because in May, he was giving her a shout out saying, “I love you baby.”

He apologized profusely to Rihanna, his family, and fans and said that he’s taking complete responsibility for the things that he’s done.

In the two-minute video, he said that he wishes he could relive those moments and that he’s ashamed of what he’s done.

The real question is, are you buying it? I mean, sure he sounded sincere, but is it really? He’s said that he’s apologized to Rihanna and yet he felt the need to apologize publicly five months later.

It just all seems so scripted to me. What do you think?
