The official Twitter account for the American Music Awards has confirmed that Janet Jackson will be opening up the show!

They tweeted the news with this message:

Breaking News – Janet Jackson to kick-off the 2009 “American Music Awards” with a special opening medley

ABC has confirmed that the show will feature an eight minute performance by Janet. The show is set to air live at the Nokia Theatre in L.A. on November 22nd at 8pm EST.

Kid Rock Joins Lineup For The CMA Awards

Kid Rock is set to join the lineup for the CMA Awards show on November 11, 2009. The show is set to air on ABC next Wednesday at 8pm EST.

He’s set to perform with Jamey Johnson and also has presenting duties. Joining him on stage, separately, of course, are Martina McBride, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, Tim McGraw, and Kenny Chesney.

Kanye West To Check Into Rehab?

Rumor has it that Kanye West’s drinking has gotten a bit out of hand lately, so much, that he might just be planning a trip to rehab. He’s become quite the media topic since grabbing Taylor Swift’s microphone at the VMAs earlier this month.

It all started at the VMAs, when he arrived at the awards show with a bottle of Hennessy. A source said, “His drinking is getting worse – and when he has too much, he can be mean and obnoxious. If he doesn’t get help soon, things could really spiral out of control.”

Reportedly, he will be checking himself into rehab after he wraps up his Fame Kills tour with Lady Gaga. The source added, “Kanye’s afraid to go to rehab, but her knows he needs help and is taking steps in the right direction.”

I hope he gets the help he needs, he seemed to really be chugging that bottle when he was at the VMAs.

Kanye West Apologizes Again?

When Kanye West took the microphone away from Taylor Swift at last night’s Video Music Awards, we could all agree: it was wrong.

Kanye apologized for it on his official blog, saying:

I’M SOOOOO SORRY TO TAYLOR SWIFT AND HER FANS AND HER MOM. I SPOKE TO HER MOTHER RIGHT AFTER AND SHE SAID THE SAME THING MY MOTHER WOULD’VE SAID. SHE IS VERY TALENTED! I LIKE THE LYRICS ABOUT BEING A CHEERLEADER AND SHE’S IN THE BLEACHERS! …………………… I’M IN THE WRONG FOR GOING ON STAGE AND TAKING AWAY FROM HER MOMENT!…………….. BEYONCE’S VIDEO WAS THE BEST OF THIS DECADE!!!! I’M SORRY TO MY FANS IF I LET YOU GUYS DOWN!!!! I’M SORRY TO MY FRIENDS AT MTV. I WILL APOLOGIZE TO TAYLOR 2MRW. WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD!!!! Then, that post disappeared mysteriously. He has since issued another apology:

I feel like Ben Stiller in “Meet the Parents” when he messed up everything and Robert De Niro asked him to leave… That was Taylor’s moment and I had no right in any way to take it from her. I am truly sorry.

It is not going to be enough, Kanye. You’re a fool. Obviously a fool that was drunk on Hennessy, but a fool, nonetheless.

Amy Winehouse, you raise my blood pressure.

Amy Winehouse, you’z a sucka. Seriously. Pull your head out of your lower region and live again. Stop sucking.

Apparently, Winehouse won the award for Best Album at the Q Awards, and failed to even give a care. No appearance, no apology, no word whatsoever.

A source claims, “I thought it wasn’t real when I first saw it. But then I looked at the newspapers and saw the Q Awards were on…and Amy Winehouse didn’t collect her prize. I’m sure the Q Awards organizers wouldn’t be too happy it’s been left in the bar…she should really be there to pick it up.”
