Donna Summer releasing a new CD after 17 years
Donna Summer is set to release her first album in 17 years after signing a new record deal.
The singer’s last album was in 1991, but she has a new contract with Sony BMG subsidiary Burgundy Records, which will have her heading back into the recording studio.
She is reportedly to be working with the team who worked on Natasha Bedingfield’s album, Pocketful of Sunshine and J.R. Rotem, the guy that worked on Britney Spears’ album Blackout.
Sources say that Donna is delighted to be returning to music and hopes her fans will appreciate the element of nostalgia.
She tells Billboard.com, “My dream is that when people hear the music it will remind them of their youth, their childhood and the joy and wonderment they felt exploring their first pack of crayons.” The new LP is scheduled for release in May 2008.
