Katherine McPhee To Release New Material On Verve Label

According to Idol Stalker, we’ve learned that American Idol runner-up Katharine McPhee has just signed on to Verve Records, which is basically a jazz label.

She is reportedly releasing an album of new material with them by the end of 2009. I really loved her song, “Over It”, so let’s hope that Verve has the right tools to put her talent to good use. I liked her voice and thought she had

Verve CEO, Bruce Resnikoff says, “The album she is working on will show many new sides to her talents as an interpreter and a songwriter, and show everyone just how special she is.”

I’m glad that she’s releasing something new and not extending into any more movies (that I know of). Her role in “The House Bunny” just wasn’t well-written enough for her to make it believable.
