Metallica might be following in the footsteps of Radiohead by releasing their music online.

The sell-outs rockers are set to release their ninth studio album sometime later this year. The band members have admitted that they want to be able to keep up with the digital age and aren’t looking for a tradition album deal.

Douchebag drummer Lars Ulrich says, “We’ve been observing Radiohead and Trent Reznor (of Nine Inch Nails) and in 27 years or however long it takes for the next record, we’ll be looking forward to everything in terms of possibilities with the internet.”
