Michael Jackson axed from Grammys for diva demands

Michael Jackson was axed from appearing at the Grammy Awards after making a series of outrageous diva-like demands, sources say.
Jackson was scheduled to appear at the ceremony earlier this month for a tribute marking the 25th anniversary of his album Thriller, allegedly infuriated event bosses by insisting the entire evening be dedicated to his career.
He was said to have asked the show’s presenters to refer to him as “The King of Pop” at least 30 times throughout the night.
He also wanted a new award to be created just for him and presented to him by an honoree of his choice, according to the New York Post newspaper.
Grammy producer Ken Ehrlich, who had been desperate to get Michael to appear at the show, is said to have retracted the invitation when the demands got too out of control.
Jackson had been hoping to promote his re-released version of ‘Thriller’ - entitled Thriller: 25th Anniversary which features collaborations with stars including will.i.am and Kanye West.
I don’t blame the producers….Michael is a has-been now and shouldn’t be catered to like he’s the only star in the room.
