Norah Jones Almost Quit Singing

Songstress Norah Jones confessed that she almost gave up singing, right before she hit it big with her debut album, “Come Away With Me.”

She was working as a waitress, waiting tables while waiting for her big break, but almost gave it all up, because she said that she was getting fat on corn muffins.

She said, “I’d gained weight – waiting tables, I was eating a lot of corn muffins and I didn’t know they were filled with butter. I felt fat, I felt gross. I called my mom crying and said I wanted to go back to Texas. But my mom said, ‘You know, you’ve only been there six months, at least give it a full year.’”

Her debut album sold over ten million copies, giving her instant success. I bet she’s glad she waited it out!
