Brandon Flowers Has High Hopes For The Killers

April 30, 2009 by Roberta

Brandon Flowers thinks he and his band can knock legends Led Zeppelin and Nirvana off of their “pedestals”????

What? That’s a little reaching, isn’t it?

Flowers talked to NME and said that the band has already conquered its British market and now needs to concentrate on the U.S. He said that we Americans are still so concentrated on Led Zeppelin and Nirvana, that there’s no room for them.

He says, “We’ve been embraced in Britain in a way that I’ll never understand, and it’s such a wonderful thing,” he declared. “But over here [in America], people are still so obsessed with Led Zeppelin and Nirvana, those sorts of bands, that nobody else is allowed [to grow].”

He’s right. We love our Zeppelin and Nirvana, now go back to the U.K. already. You are no Robert Plant and certainly no Kurt Cobain.

Paul McCartney thinks Led Zeppelin reunion without Robert Plant is a disappointment

The remaining members of Led Zeppelin have already decided to tour next year without Robert Plant. Much to my dismay, they are auditioning replacements for Plant and are going to name their band something else.

Paul McCartney has come forward to express his disappointment at the band for reuniting without Plant. He basically says that the reunion won’t be the same without Plant.

He says, “What’s happened to Planty? He was great at their gig. It’s such a pity.”

Agreed!

Led Zeppelin to tour under a different name without Robert Plant?

November 14, 2008 by Roberta

Led Zeppelin have confirmed that they are going to go on tour without singer Robert Plant. Much to the protest of other singers and fans alike, they’ve announced that they plan to tour in 2009 without their famous singer, who opted out of the reunion.

The rest of the band are auditioning singers to take over the frontman position of the band. And any tours done by the group will not be under the name Led Zeppelin.

Their spokesman says, “Whatever this is, it is not Led Zeppelin. Not without the involvement of Robert Plant.”

It’s good that they’ve realized that they are not the same band without Robert Plant. No one even comes close. I wonder what they’re going to call themselves now?

Chris Cornell doesn’t like Led Zeppelin without Robert Plant

Chris Cornell shares the same idea about a Led Zeppelin reunion without singer Robert Plant as I do. It’s “depressing.”

Zeppelin announced plans to tour next year without Plant last month and Chris Cornell has said that he has no plans whatsoever to take Plant’s place. That’s a good thing, because while he’s a great singer, he’s no Robert Plant. No one is and no one could possibly take his place.

He said, “I would never do anything like that whether I were approached or not. It just doesn’t make any sense to me at all. I would not want to go see me performing Led Zeppelin songs with the two other guys that used to be in a band called Led Zeppelin while Robert Plant is out somewhere touring. That’s not a ticket I would buy. God bless ‘em, but that’s not Led Zeppelin. I find it completely depressing. I’d never do anything like that. I mean just out of respect to the legacy of the band.”

Agreed 100%.

Led Zeppelin is looking for a replacement for Robert Plant

John Paul Jones has confirmed the news that Led Zeppelin is about to go on a world tour after they’ve found a replacement for Robert Plant. They offered Plant the opportunity to get back together with the group, but he declined.

Steven Tyler of Aerosmith was rumored to be stepping into Plant’s shoes, but they’re heavy shoes to fill. Think he could do it? While I love both singers, there just isn’t going to be another Robert Plant.

John Paul Jones says, “As soon as we know who it is, we’ll let you know who it is.”

He’s still holding out for Plant to change his mind, maybe in a “few years”?

Led Zeppelin is planning a full tour for next summer, with Robert Plant set to rejoin the band. Woot!

The band have yet to confirm to plans, but reports have surfaced that they are reuniting and will be hitting the road next year.

A source says, “He [Plant] realized he couldn’t face the thought of not being involved. The band were over the moon when he told them the news.”

I can’t wait! Led Zeppelin is one of my favorite bands of all time. I hope they come to Ohio!
